My Name is Barbra Streisand Barbra (2023)

In this memoir, Barbra Streisand tells her own story, from growing up in Brooklyn and making her first appearances in New York nightclubs to her breakthrough in Funny Girl and the long succession of achievements that followed across every medium. She recounts her early struggles to become an actress, her decision to sing for a living, the recording of several acclaimed albums, and the years of work involved in making Yentl. She also discusses directing The Prince of Tides, her friendships with figures including Marlon Brando and Madeleine Albright, her political advocacy, and the fulfillment she has found in her marriage to James Brolin. Frank, funny, opinionated and charming, the book follows a six-decade career in which Streisand has excelled in every area of entertainment, including music, film and theatre.
