My kluci z Brna Kravka Jaroslav (2024)

This Czech-language book brings together the best humorous stories Jaroslav Kravka originally prepared for the Czech Radio Brno programme Srdcovky Zdeka Junka. With wit, the author recalls his childhood in his native Brno district of idenice, introducing distinctive characters and places whose atmosphere has long disappeared in the whirl of the modern city. He remembers them with humour and a touch of nostalgia, using a vivid local style that gives the stories their character. The entertaining narrative transports readers to the recent past and into the comic adventures of the protagonists childhood. Jaroslav Kravka comes from Brno and trained as a lawyer, although he never practised the profession. He began as a journalist and later worked for almost thirty years as a dramaturge at Czech Television, contributing to major entertainment programmes and collaborating with numerous figures from the Czech audiovisual scene.
