This Czech-language book presents Christians with a 500-year-old form of prayer that changed spirituality expert Jim Manneys understanding of prayer and the way he prayed. The prayer, known as the examen, was developed by St Ignatius of Loyola to lead people to a constant awareness of Gods presence. Its strength lies in dispelling the false idea that God is somewhere up there, detached from our everyday tasks and concerns. Instead, the examen invites us into a relationship with God, who wishes to be personally present in the concrete lives of those he created. Through five simple yet effective steps, we can encounter God each day, allowing his presence in our lives to change the whole world.
