This book presents the critical perspective of experienced Slovak journalist ubomr Huo, who left the world of mainstream media after refusing to continue tolerating the censorship he faced because of his views. He now works in alternative media and writes about the relationship between politics, society and the media. Following Presstitti verzus konspirtori (2014) and Drte hubu a krok! (2015), this is his third title to challenge the widespread hypocrisy and politically motivated delusions and lies spread by so-called traditional media. Huo examines journalists behind-the-scenes links to often transnational political and economic interests that strengthen their positions of power by spreading disinformation. He argues that, while these media claim to support an open society of diverse ideas, their real aim is to distort the minds and judgement of people, citizens, voters and entire nations, leading them like rats after the piper from Hamelin towards slavery, the loss of identity, historical roots and traditions, and ultimately certain death. The book explores the information wars between official propaganda, alternative media, self-appointed messiahs, political-media elites and advocates of free will, rebellion and a dignified life. The contents are in Czech.
