Mal atlas motl (2019)

This Czech-language concertina board book presents more than twenty species of local butterflies, depicted using unusual artistic techniques ranging from fabric collages, photographs, watercolours and childrens drawings to models made from leaves and sticks. Some butterflies pretend to be dried leaves, while others imitate the eyes of a cat or an owl. This inspiring book for budding butterfly enthusiasts invites readers to uncover the secrets behind these adaptations and discover species including the scarce large blue, the orange-tip and the poplar admiral.
