Lovec mafin – Pbh jednoho policajta Tich Karel (2021)

This raw, authentic account follows a police officer known as a mafia hunter as he confronts the most powerful figures in Pragues underworld. At times humorous and at times harsh, it offers no watered-down version of events, but a strong narrative seasoned with candid observations by a real police operative who stood face to face with Mrzek, Krej and many other criminals. For more than twenty-five years, he fought economic crime and, as the head of a team of operatives, demonstrably saved the state billions of crowns while others failed to act or did not want to act. He put himself in danger, however, when he complained to his superiors that his investigation was being obstructed. Retaliation came in the form of surveillance by the Ministry of the Interiors inspectorate, the dismantling of his operative team and damaged health. His police career ended bitterly when he was forced to leave the service for civilian life. The contents are in Czech.
