This volume contains two stories about royal scribe Ji Adam of Dobronn, set in the middle of the sixteenth century. In The Last Cantilena, the royal scribe is drawn into the brotherhood of temple singers. The strange death of one of its members would probably not concern the royal chamber if an ancient hymnbook had not disappeared at the same time. Only those in the know understand why the book is so valuable. In The Tudor Secret, Ji Adam of Dobronn travels as an envoy to the court of Englands Queen Mary, accompanied by Kateina Dolansk, a woman he met at the spa in Teplice who understands diplomacy far better than he does. It soon becomes clear, however, that her mission is quite different. Their attempt to uncover an old murder takes them not only into the cells of the gloomy Tower but also to the ruins of a destroyed abbey near Canterbury. The contents are in Czech.
