Konen – CD

This Czech-language pop album is Dashas first solo collection of original songs written specifically for her. Rather than swing standards, musical-theatre melodies or established cover versions, it presents a contemporary and confident repertoire produced by David Sola and chosen to showcase her vocal range. Dasha, known as a much-requested musical-theatre singer and as a voice closely associated with StarDance, does not consider herself primarily a musical-theatre performer and sees the album as the clearest expression of where she feels musically at home. She and Sola selected ten songs from twenty possibilities, with contributions from David Sola and lyricists Ester Broov and Ji Bezk, saxophonist Jan Karez, and Jana Infeldov and Jan Vvra of Jananas, who wrote two lyrics and the complete music for VIP. The sound combines live instruments with extensive studio work, featuring David Sola on piano and programming, Tom Broek and Ondej Sluka on drums, Martin Lehk on bass, Peter Binder on guitars, Camilo Caller on percussion, Epogue Quartet and a wind section. The final mixes were completed by Petr Kalb, Steve Walsh, Daniel Hdl and Duan Lippert. The tracklist includes Vm hvzdm, Ztra se v ase, VIP, Najednou, Kad den, Me se splst, Co dm v ns, Je mi fajn, Over and Psahm.
