Academy Award winner Hilary Swank received her first of two Best Actress Oscars for her compelling performance in this provocative drama based on a true story. Swank plays Teena Brandon, a troubled girl who leaves her hometown of Lincoln, Nebraska, and arrives in Falls City as Brandon Teena. With his short haircut and masculine appearance, Brandon charms the beautiful Lana, played by Chlo Sevigny, and soon finds that she returns his feelings. The revelation of his true identity triggers a tragic conflict. The film also stars Peter Sarsgaard, Brendan Sexton III and Alicia Goranson. Directed by Kimberly Peirce, it includes a making-of featurette, directors commentary, film trailers and TV spots, with Czech and multiple other language soundtracks and subtitles.
