This classical music collection for mothers and children invites families to listen together. Scientific studies show that listening to classical melodies has a beneficial effect on childrens mental development: harmonious tones calm, relax and help them fall asleep, while also supporting concentration and positively stimulating creativity and mental abilities. The works of great composers contain considerable energy and a positive charge, and this specially selected programme is also recommended for expectant mothers. It includes excerpts and works by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Joseph Haydn, Claude Debussy, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Liszt, Ludwig van Beethoven, Antonio Vivaldi, Edward Elgar, Bedich Smetana, Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann, Johann Sebastian Bach and Johannes Brahms, performed by musicians including Ivan Moravec, Josef Suk, Kateina Englichov, Vilm Veverka and Jana Boukov, with ensembles such as the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK, the Prague City Quartet, the Czech Philharmonic and the Dvok Chamber Orchestra. The programme features pieces including The Nutcracker, Reverie, Liebestraum, Fr Elise, The Four Seasons, Salut damour, The Moldau, Clair de lune, Scenes from Childhood and Brahmss Lullaby.
