Kdy v rji prelo – CDmp3 (te Tatiana Dykov)

This audiobook presents Jan Oteneks acclaimed novel about the developing relationship between two young people in the beautiful, wild umava mountains. Peter and Ludmila are two young intellectuals who leave Prague and their cultural surroundings for the remote umava borderland, where they try to restore an abandoned, dilapidated hotel that belonged to Sudeten Germans before the war. Surrounded by rugged nature and exposed to bad weather and extreme discomfort, they discover unexpected qualities and abilities in themselves and in each other. The novel takes the form of a diary recording the experiences of Ludmila, whom her partner calls Lu. Jan Oteneks ability to empathise with the feelings of a young woman is remarkable, making the book one of the popular works of post-war Czech literature. Tatiana Dykovs sensitive and effective reading highlights the tenderness, humour and loving strength of the couple. The audiobook is in Czech.
