Kdo tk, nekoue Rejfov Marie (2026)

This Czech-language mystery novel presents a young, unconventional teacher as a Czech Miss Marple. Summer is in full swing in the town of Brod, and Josefna expects her only holiday activities to be painting and training her unruly mongrel, Otrava. Her plans change when her headstrong son Vincent arrives unexpectedly, and Commissioner Tvrdk asks her to supervise his teenage daughter, Lda. When a local businessman is murdered, Josefna quickly becomes involved in the investigation and, while uncovering many secrets, causes plenty of confusion as usual. What was the motive for Boek Votokas violent death: infidelity, jealousy or money? The clues point in different directions and the circle of suspects soon grows. Could the killer be the victims brother, his grieving widow, his sister-in-law or a dissatisfied creditor? The constantly bickering Divkov-?????? duo tries to solve the case, while circumstances also force Josefna to take up running.
