Jubileum – CD

This Czech-language CD presents a selection from performances by Jan Vodansk and Haa Navarov, originally staged at Pragues inohern klub in the new millennium. The programmes Textappeal S smvem bytovho jdra and Jubileum combine absurd poetry, witty songs, comic analyses of fairy tales, mock historical lectures, amusing rhymes and a virtual tour of a private exhibition by conceptual artist Bedich Bob. Haa Navarov, a generation younger than Vodansk, naturally connects with his imagination and gives his texts a fresh new context. She sings and speaks alongside Jan Vodansk, Pemysl Rut and other performers, accompanied by the Sklep Theatre band and musicians including Petr Frischmann, Daniel Dobi and Jaroslav Vaculk. The repertoire features distinctive comic and imaginative songs and spoken pieces from both programmes, performed with humour and remarkable inventiveness.
