Jako hvzdy v temn noci Moyesov Jojo (2020)

Alice Wright hopes that marrying the handsome American Bennett Van Cleve will help her escape the restrictive life she leads in England. Yet neither her marriage nor life in a remote corner of Kentucky develops as she imagined. She eagerly welcomes the chance to volunteer for the so-called Horse Library project, which aims to bring books and education to remote areas of the Appalachian Mountains. Alice, Margery and three other courageous women face horseback journeys through dangerous wilderness, prejudice against women, immigrants and people of colour, as well as wonderful female friendship, solidarity and love. This Czech-language novel is an expansive historical drama set during the Great Depression and based on true events.
