Izolovan (2026)

A gripping psychological thriller follows comic-book illustrator Linda, who moves to the North Sea island of Helgoland to escape an ex-boyfriend who persistently stalks her. Her brother arranges a refuge for her in a friends house, but Linda soon becomes convinced that she is not alone. Terrified, she runs outside just as a hurricane approaches and cuts the island off from the mainland. On the beach, Linda discovers a dead man and takes the bag found beside him back to the house. When a mobile phone inside it rings, the caller is Paul Herzfeld, a forensic pathologist and specialist in difficult cases. He has a compelling reason for calling: while examining the brutally disfigured body of a woman, he found the name of his daughter Hannah and the dead mans mobile number inside the skull. Hannah has been kidnapped, so Herzfeld immediately calls the number. After hesitating, Linda answers. The desperate forensic pathologist persuades her to examine the corpse and perform an autopsy in the hope of finding further clues, as bad weather makes it impossible for him to reach the island. A race against time begins, with every minute crucial if a father is to save his daughters life. This is the first collaboration between Sebastian Fitzek and forensic expert Michael Tsokos, and the novel delivers surprises, twists, and a fast-moving story from beginning to end.
