ivot nen nhoda Fousek Josef (2025)

This Czech-language book presents new feuilletons, personal stories, reflections, thoughtful observations and poems by Josef Fousek, a celebrated Czech artist known as a lyricist, singer-songwriter, writer and photographer. His distinctive, sometimes slightly smoky humor has retained its bohemian character even in old age, while the youthful sparkle in his eyes has remained undimmed for more than eight decades. His songs can leave listeners feeling both sad and joyful, and his writing seems to describe their innermost feelings with such precision that it feels as though he knows them personally. Meeting Josef Fousek over a beer or a cup of coffee offers a rich mixture of moods and insights that can suddenly reveal ones own life in its tender roughness. The book also includes memories of friends and loved ones, accompanied by several previously unpublished photographs from his private archive.
