ivot Buddhy Kohn Sherab Chdzin (2017)

Drawing on a wide range of sources, Sherab Chdzin Kohn, a longtime student of Trungpa Rinpoche, presents a biography of Buddha Shakyamuni that explores many fascinating aspects of his life and activity without becoming overly solemn or sentimental. The familiar story of Prince Gautama, who left a life of luxury to overcome the suffering of conditioned existence, forms an important introduction, but most of the book focuses on the 45 years Buddha spent passing on his knowledge. During this time, he encounters people from many different backgrounds and social positions, from ascetics, robbers, townspeople and peasants to kings and queens. His patience, practical wisdom and fearlessness can inspire both readers who have not yet encountered Buddhist teachings and practitioners of any of the three levels of Buddhism: the Small Vehicle, the Great Vehicle and the Diamond Vehicle.
