This Czech-language music education textbook for the second year of primary school forms part of a complete series for the first stage of primary education. Its main aim is to foster pupils positive relationship with music, especially singing, active listening, movement activities and instrumental performance. Through the textbooks, children also learn about musical instruments, interesting facts from the lives of composers, how music is created and other related topics. Introductory texts for the individual sessions, inspired not only by the musical world but also by everyday life, motivate pupils to take part in the activities. Emphasis is placed on their activity and creativity in all areas of music education. Singing, movement activities, instrumental work and listening thus form a natural and integrated whole. The textbooks follow current curriculum documents and the activities lead towards the expected outcomes for both the first and subsequent educational periods. The series is supplemented by compact discs featuring engaging recordings of classical and modern music.
