Hry bohov (slovensky) (2026)

This Slovak-language fantasy novel follows Lyra Keresov, who has never been popular with the gods. As a child, her parents offered her to the Order of Thieves to pay their debts, and ever since, she has lived under a curse placed on her by Zeus himself. Lyra has always hoped that if she kept a low profile, the capricious gods of Olympus would not notice her. It has not been easy, but she has survived. Then one day she encounters the most dangerous of them all, Hades. For the first time, the merciless king of the underworld enters a tournament whose winner will sit on Olympus and rule for the next century. Instead of fighting their own battles, however, the gods choose mortal champions. Why has Hades chosen Lyra, who is distinguished by nothing except her sarcasm and her curse? And why does her heart tremble whenever he says she belongs to him? Lyra does not know whether she is merely Hadess pawn, bait or something else. She does know that Hades plays by his own rules, and that death always wins in the end, whatever the cost.
