Hrak Mayne Andrew (2026)

From the bestselling author of The Naturalist, this thriller follows Professor Theo Cray, who cannot return to his university research because of the suspicions surrounding the death of his former student and the scandalous speculation after her killer was murdered. He tries to start a new life in a different field, but is drawn almost against his will into another unsolved case. The desperate father of a missing child, whom the authorities refuse to listen to and who receives no support from anywhere, turns to Theo for help. The only clues are childrens drawings and an urban legend from a poor neighbourhood about a being known as the Toymaker. To uncover what lies behind the Toymaker, Theo must set aside everything science tells him and enter a world where dreams and nightmares carry the same weight as reality. The deeper he delves into the case, the clearer it becomes that a far-reaching conspiracy may be involved, and that it has probably claimed other victims as well.
