Hard Rock Line 1975-1984 – LP

This vinyl compilation presents twelve hard rock recordings from 1975 to 1984, a period when hard rock faced considerable difficulties in Communist Czechoslovakia. Long hair, powerful decibels, heavily electric guitars, expressive singers and blue jeans did not fit easily into the socialist ideal. The selection includes recordings that can be placed more or less easily in the hard rock category, with idols such as Uri, Prplov and Sabati. The Prague, Brno, Ostrava and Plze scenes produced skilled composers, capable instrumentalists, excellent female and male vocalists and occasional lyricists, despite problems with instruments, equipment and studios. These enduring recordings partly substituted for concerts that were often hidden away at rural venues. The artists represented include Synkopy 61, Katapult, J. Schelinger and F. R. ech, P. Jan with O. Petina, Citron, Projektil, Olympic, J. Kratochvlov with Motor, L. Semelka with S.L.S., Vra pinarov and Turbo. The tracklist is: Formule I, Plnon zvodn drha, Sirna, Benzinov krlovna, Pantomima reklam, Mu ze eleznch hor, Necho dl (Msto), J z (Move Over), Ty, krsn ensk, Koncert, Msc and Tv odvrcen tv.
