Gorky Park Martin Cruz Smith (2021)

A triple murder in a Moscow amusement park sets the story in motion: three corpses are found frozen in the snow, their faces and fingers missing. Chief homicide investigator Arkady Renko is cynical about everything except his profession. To identify the victims and uncover the truth, he must confront the KGB, the FBI and the New York City police while pursuing a wealthy and ruthless American fur dealer. At the same time, Renko falls in love with a beautiful, headstrong dissident for whom he may risk everything. This acclaimed thriller offers a chilling and incisive portrait of life and lies in the Soviet Union and of a terrifying political regime.
