Ghost Cat Howard Alex (2024)

Early one morning in March 1902, at 7/7 Marchmont Crescent, the cat Grimalkin curls up beside the fire and licks the hand of his favourite human, Eilidh the charlady. It is to be his last day on earth before he becomes the Ghost Cat. Grimalkin then witnesses 120 years of change, prowling unseen among the inhabitants of an Edinburgh tenement while uncovering startling revelations about the mystery of existence, the unstoppable passage of time and the true meaning of feline companionship. This charming, humorous and feel-good tale offers a cats-eye view of history and is suited to readers who enjoy Matt Haigs How to Stop Time and V. E. Schwabs The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue.
