Geologie eskho stedoho (2026)

This Czech-language monograph explores the geology of the esk stedoho Highlands, a volcanic landscape without equal elsewhere in the country. It describes the geological foundations of the region and its volcanic rocks, as well as its sediments and important paleontological sites, covering approximately 70 million years of geological development. The book examines the evolution of volcanic activity along the Ohe Rift and places it in a European context, where other major volcanic structures, such as those in the Rhine Rift, formed during the same period. Further chapters focus on mineral deposits, historical and present-day extraction of raw materials, underground sites and the development of the landscape. The publication also includes a catalogue of geologically significant locations and is intended for informed visitors and pilgrims exploring this magical region.
