From Cradle to Coffin – CD

Livin Free, formed in 2018 as a songwriting project by singer and organist Honza Holeek, follow their successful debut Voices from Beyond with their second full-length album, recorded with American drummer Winston A. Watson Jr., formerly of the Bob Dylan Band among others. The eight original songs combine elements of classic rock, blues, soul and gospel in a modern arrangement. Livin Frees distinctive sound comes from the unique combination of musicians from several generations who contributed to the arrangements and the albums final sound: bassist Vladimr Guma Kulhnek, who celebrates his 80th birthday this year, young guitarist Ji Rambousek, saxophonist Vladimr Bory Seck, and Michal Kolouch Dank, who added percussion and some drum parts. The album is defined by Honza Holeeks unmistakable songwriting, characteristic vocals and Hammond organ, as well as the deeper meaning found in the lyrics. Together with the recording quality of Sono studio and its striking cover, it offers contemporary music rooted in classic influences. The tracklist includes From Cradle to Coffin, Love and Hatred, Diehard Believer, Satan Tore His Horns Away, The Place Where You Belong, Lies, Lost in the City and Heavy Rain.
