Fotograf z Osvtimi – Svdectv o zrdnosti reimu Crippa Luca (2020)

This historical biography, combining factual history with elements of a biographical novel, tells the story of Wilhelm Brasse, who was interned in Auschwitz in the summer of 1940. He survives there because of his skill as a photographer, taking pictures for the Nazi machinery of precise record-keeping and documentation, including photographs of prisoners, executions and medical experiments on people. He produces more than 50,000 images in total. The book reconstructs the five years Wilhelm Brasse spends in the extermination camp, drawing on historical documents and the photographers own memories. The contents are in Czech.
