eskoslovensk – CD

This bilingual album by Hmlisto, an unusual mother-and-son duo from a mountain solitude beneath Vtnik, combines contemporary singer-songwriter music with influences from authentic Carpathian folklore and rock. For eskoslovensk, Hmlisto invited Czech folk-rock singer-songwriter Petr Linhart to collaborate, creating an unconventional fusion of two perspectives, with both viewpoints present in most of the songs. Veronika and Petr each wrote their own part and perspective on the storys subject, conducting a dialogue through words and music, while Jn Kicko skilfully arranged the conversations into a unified whole. The album was produced by Josef tpnek and completed in Prague at Soundevice studio with sound engineer Adam Pakosta. The studio band features Jn Kicko on guitars, Jan Steinsdrfer on keyboards, Jan Lstibrek on bass, double bass and moog, and Martin Novk on drums, percussion and glockenspiel. The tracklist includes Hranica, Jchymov, Blskavica, Adam vid, Rysy, Vidina, Vysoko v horch, Praha v zelench horch, Vlie oi, Karel and Non spoj.
