This Czech-language textbook for the ninth year of primary school and the corresponding year of a multi-year grammar school follows the revised Framework Educational Programme and builds on the previously published eighth-year textbook. Its chapters cover general aspects of language, the sound system, word formation, word meaning, morphology, syntax, composition and communication, including narration, description, characterization, biographies, forms, explanations and summaries, essays, speeches, discussions and journalistic forms. Alongside revision and practice of essential material, it introduces more advanced topics. The book contains varied exercises, basic rules, overview tables, entertaining crosswords and tests with solutions. A final chapter focuses on working with texts such as school regulations, advertisements and economic texts, followed by five comprehensive tests for entrance-examination preparation. It also includes language analyses, spelling exercises, tasks for gifted pupils, group-work activities, and assignments using the internet and language reference books.
