Erasure: now a major motion picture American Fiction Everett Percival (2021)

This novel, adapted into the Oscar-nominated major motion picture American Fiction, follows author Thelonius Monk Ellison. With his book sales at an all-time low, his family falling apart and his agent telling him that he is not black enough, Monk must decide what an author is supposed to do. Erasure is a forceful and original novel about race, identity and the way we live, combining protest, humanity and incisive humour in a story that is both uproarious and thought-provoking.
