epot za zdmi Painswick Court (2026)

Anne Loveday, a surgeons daughter, is determined to lead a free and useful life. To escape her matchmaking stepmother, she accepts an old friends invitation to return to Painswick, where she and her sister spent many happy summers until that final, fateful year. Soon after her arrival, Anne is asked to nurse Lady Celie, who years earlier forbade her nephew from marrying Annes sister. Setting aside her resentment, Anne moves into Painswick Court, an old house said to be haunted. The household also includes Lady Celies unmarried daughter, her handsome adult nephews and a mysterious new maid. Two local doctors visit regularly, one of whom Anne admires while concealing a secret of his own. When a series of misfortunes befalls her patient, Anne realizes that someone is trying to kill her. But who? As Anne becomes one of the suspects and her determination to avoid romantic entanglements is put to the test, can she uncover the real murderer and protect her heart before it is too late? The book is in Czech.
