This childrens fantasy novel follows Elika and Kubk, who spend their holidays with their grandparents in the magical village of Tisaov. The village is entwined with the mystery of the Lilac Forest and an ancient yew tree whose existence no one can confirm. Where has the yew disappeared, and can only those who believe in magic find it before the world teaches them to stop dreaming? When the forest calls Elika and Kubk into its depths and an unexpected storm closes the door on their childhood, help arrives from a mysterious friend whose presence only the children know about, or perhaps things are not quite as they seem. This fairy tale is not about what was, but about what may happen when the heart follows a voice understood only by children, and perhaps by a few adults who have not yet forgotten.
