Domov zlatem spraven Hoshio Sanae (2026)

This Czech-language novel follows high-school student Mao, who lives with her grandmother Chie, a practitioner of kintsugi, the traditional Japanese art of repairing broken vessels with gold so that their old cracks become ornaments. Mao must soon decide which direction to take, but uncertainty holds her back. When she discovers a lacquered hairpin in her grandmothers drawer, it sets off a wave of memories that takes them both into the past. Old grievances, unspoken secrets and words that cannot be taken back have broken peoples hearts. Yet, just as cracked pottery can be repaired with gold, beauty and hope can emerge once more from broken souls.
