Death at the Sanatorium Jonasson Ragnar (2024)

High in the mountains stands an old sanatorium, once a hospital for tuberculosis patients and now home to six employees: a caretaker, two doctors, two nurses and a young research assistant. Although the wards closed decades ago, the staff remain there to conduct research, surrounded by cold corridors, draughty windows and echoing halls that preserve the buildings dark history. When one of the nurses, Yrsa, is brutally murdered, they realise that death has never truly left the sanatorium, nor have its secrets. There are only five suspects, yet the case remains unsolved for two decades. Young criminologist Helgi Reykdal then attempts to lay the ghosts of the hospitals past to rest. Ragnar Jnassons mystery is a chilling, delicately told crime novel with subtle nods to the crime writers of the past.
