Curse of the Wolf King Odette Tessonja (2021)

Gemma Bellefleur wants to leave her past behind, but a trickster fae kings ransom demand puts her back in the gossip columns. King Elliot, who despises humans, is dying under a curse and needs Gemmas help to break it. Their plan requires them to trick someone into falling in love with the beastly, brooding Elliot, drawing Gemma and the king into close quarters. As desire grows between them, Gemma must resist her feelings: once the curse is broken, Elliot will return to his true form as a wolf and be lost to her forever. Can she sacrifice her feelings to save his life, or will love demand something even greater, her heart? This standalone fairy-tale retelling of Beauty and the Beast combines slow-burn romance, wolf shifters and brooding fae royals. It is an upper YA/NA story with mature situations and some adult language; the romance builds slowly toward moderate steam. The novel belongs to the Entangled with Fae series and is set in the same world as The Fair Isle Trilogy, though it can be read on its own and in any order.
