Crimson River – erven eka Devney Perry (2025)

This Czech-language novel follows Lyla Eden, who has spent the past few years watching her siblings find love while she remains married to her work. After completing one hundred consecutive days at her caf, she is thrown out by her sister and heads for her favourite hiking trail, where she sees a man washing blood from his hands in the Crimson River. As she studies his scarred face, he suddenly grabs her by the throat, but somehow eventually lets her go. Shaken to the core, Lyla reports the incident to the local police. Two days later, Vance Sutter arrives in town armed with endless questions and a tarnished police badge. The chemistry between them is impossible to deny, no matter how hard Vance tries to ignore it, and avoiding Lyla is not an option. After years of following dead ends, she is his only lead to closing the case that has haunted his career. Together, they retrace her steps to find the scarred man she encountered by the Crimson River.
