Cats Cradle Vonnegut Kurt (2010)

This English-language novel by Kurt Vonnegut offers a unique perspective on fears of nuclear annihilation, told with deadpan humour and bitter irony. Dr Felix Hoenikker, one of the founding fathers of the atomic bomb, leaves the world a deadly legacy: ice-nine, a lethal chemical capable of freezing the entire planet. The search for it leads to Hoenikkers three eccentric children, a crazed dictator in the Caribbean and madness. Felix Hoenikkers death wish comes true when his final, fatal gift to humanity brings about an end that is nigh for everyone.
