Brna Irkally – Dobrodrustv kapitna Bthoryho 2 ervenk Juraj (2026)

The second part of the Captain Bthory cycle follows the wars against the Ottoman Empire in Hungary, Transylvania, Croatia and the Mediterranean between 1660 and 1664. The year is 1662, and after two years on Turkish galleys, Kornel Bthory is barely a shadow of the man he once was. During the Ottoman fleets siege of Crete, however, Bthory meets the Turkish scholar and traveler Evliya elebi again. elebi buys the Christian knight and poet out of slavery and makes him his assistant on his travels. On the sultans own orders, elebi must accompany the mysterious vizier Kirmizi Mustafa to remote regions of Syria and perhaps even farther, to the ruins of ancient cities deep in the desert. Whatever the goal of the viziers secret mission, it will be a dangerous journey. Pirates, rebels, mysterious assassins and perhaps even enemies unharmed by ordinary weapons lie in wait for elebi, Bthory and the others. The book is in Czech.
