Bluesberry – LP

Blues from Hanspaulka is available again on LP. When the band Bluesberry is mentioned, Petr Petar Introvi (19512020) automatically comes to mind. Since 1971, many musicians have passed through this Prague, more precisely Hanspaulka-based group, but without Introvi it would not exist or have the same drive. At first, the band had a folk sound, reflected in its appearances, awards and early recordings from the Porta festival. It soon became clear, however, that its wittily ironic lyrics, set to blues standards and original songs, also worked with electric accompaniment. The founding members, Introvi on vocals, guitar, harmonica, accordion and other instruments, and Peter Jurkovi on guitar and vocals, were gradually joined by keyboard player Richard Dvok, bassist Ji Kredba and drummer Jan Hrdlika, all of whom can be heard on this 1987 debut album. Many others later contributed to the bands quality and concert reputation, especially guitarist Mrio Csa, lyricist Jaroslav Mller, singer Martin Kraus, drummers Zdenk olc and Ivan Dvok, and pianist and actor Vclav Kopta. The activity at the Houty pub led to many heated discussions and subsequent lineup changes, without losing the essence: a thoroughly Czech form of blues that creates a unique branch of this popular genre. The original album has been newly remastered, supplemented with a sleeve containing the lyrics and pressed on 180-gram vinyl. The CD includes five bonus songs from the period before its release, adding further interest to the history of Bluesberry. The tracklist includes Stop Blues (Key to the Highway), Blues About Family Bliss (He Knows the Rules), Blues of the Abandoned Road, Pork Blues (Pigfoot and a Bottle of Beer), Blues Shirt, Ive Got a Woman in Kladno (Got My Mojo Working), My Pleasure at Parting (Easy Rider), Blues About a Trip to Prague (Loghairs Blues-Rhumba), Emgeton Blues (One Scotch, One Bourbon, One Beer), Last Match Blues (My Key to Your Door), Brandejs (My Baby), Im Looking for That Kind of Woman (Why Are People Like That), You Only Want to Play (Baby, Please Come Home), In a Hundred Years, This Time Ill Disappear for Good (I Cant Be Satisfied), and For a Long Time (Long Time).
