Blood & Sugar Shepherd-Robinsonov Laura (2020)

In June 1781, an unidentified body hangs from a hook at Deptford Dock, horribly tortured and branded with a slavers mark. Days later, Captain Harry Corsham, a war hero beginning a promising parliamentary career, is visited by the sister of his old friend Tad Archer, a passionate abolitionist who was about to expose a secret that could cause irreparable damage to the British slave trade. Tad had said that people were trying to kill him, and now he is missing. To discover what happened, Harry takes up the threads of Tads investigation and delves into the heart of the conspiracy he uncovered. His inquiries threaten his political prospects and his familys happiness, force him to confront his past, and risk exposing secrets that could destroy him, provided he survives the deadly dangers awaiting him in Deptford.
