Ben Richards (Glen Powell), a working man desperate to save his sick daughter, is persuaded by the shows charming but ruthless producer Dan Killian (Josh Brolin) to join the programme. Bens defiance, instinct and determination soon make him an unexpected audience favourite and a threat to the entire system. As the ratings rise, so does the danger. Ben must outwit not only the hunters but also a nation addicted to watching him fall.
