Bat Eater Baker Kylie Lee (2025)

Cora Zeng is a crime scene cleaner in Chinatown, washing away the remains of brutal murders and suicides. The bloody scenes do not trouble her, not after she witnessed the worst thing imaginable: her sister being pushed in front of a train. Before fleeing, the murderer whispered two words: bat eater. Months later, the killer remains at large, Cora is barely holding herself together, and she ignores both the bite marks appearing on her coffee table and her aunts warnings about the Hungry Ghost Festival, when the gates of hell open. But when Cora and her strange co-workers begin finding bat carcasses at their clean-ups, she can no longer ignore that all the recent victims are East Asian women. Soon, Cora learns that hungry ghosts cannot simply be ignored.
