Aspen institute a nov svtov d Bui Petr (2025)

This Czech-language book examines the Aspen Institute, an influential international organization that brings together leading figures from the economic, political, business and artistic worlds, among others. It compares Aspens financiers to the heads of the Hydra from Greek mythology, a monstrous serpent-bodied creature with nine dragon heads and the daughter of the hundred-headed giant Typhon and Echidna. The Hydra has survived in the name of the longest constellation and, in literature, has become a synonym for monstrosity, such as the hydra of war or fascism, against which the struggle is endless. In the Czech context, a similar, though local, structure is known as a kraken. Each of Aspens heads represents one sphere of American philanthropy: as soon as one is cut off, two more appear, ready to attack.
