Adventn psn a koledy – LP

This festive vinyl album brings together Marta Kubiov and the Eben brothers, who set fifteen suitably celebratory passages from the Gospels of Saint Luke and Saint Matthew to music. After 1989, Kubiov returned to the studio and joined the trio of brothers Eben: Marek composed the music, while David and Krytof helped with the arrangements. Dalibor trunc on dulcimer, Ingeborg dn on cello and viola da gamba, Petr Hapka on hurdy-gurdy, and the male choir Schola Gregoriana Pragensis complete the unusual ensemble. The sensitive modern treatment makes the music both pop-like in its originality and solemnly Advent-focused, offering moments for rest and reflection, from Panno blahoslaven and Syn Bo se nm narodil to Prorokovali proroci and Nastal nm den vesel. The reissue also includes seven bonus recordings from 1967 to 1999, extending beyond the albums original period and unique musical style while complementing its festive theme with partly lesser-known songs. The album also recalls Kubiovs frequent support for public charitable collections during Advent. The contents are in Czech.
