Absinthe Forger Rail Evan (2025)

This true-crime account follows a mysterious dealer who claims to possess a collection of valuable pre-ban absinthe bottles, as journalist Evan Rail investigates whether the bottles and other rumored hidden stashes are real. The story explores the collectors and absintheurs pursuing these rare bottles, modern distillers whose reputations have changed, and the drinks history from its beginnings in Switzerland through its development in France to its modern revival. It also examines absinthes long association with bohemian culture, temptation, madness and crime.
