A Song for the Dark Times Rankin Ian (2021)

When his daughter Samantha calls in the dead of night to say that her husband has been missing for two days, John Rebus fears the worst. His experience in the police tells him that his daughter will be the prime suspect. He was never the best father, as the job always came first, but now Samantha needs him more than ever. As he sets off at dawn for the windswept coast and a small town with big secrets, Rebus wonders whether he is going as a father or a detective. This may be the first time in his life when the truth is the one thing he does not want to find.
