A Room of Ones Own and Three Guineas (Vintage Classics Woolf Series) Woolfov Virginia (2016)

This volume combines two of Virginia Woolfs major contributions to feminist literature. A Room of Ones Own, first published in 1929, is a witty, urbane and persuasive argument against the intellectual subjection of women, particularly women writers. Woolf exposes the prejudices and restrictions that women writers have faced for centuries and argues for a more equal literary establishment. Its sequel, Three Guineas, is a passionate polemic that draws a striking comparison between the tyrannical hypocrisy of the Victorian patriarchal system and the evils of fascism. Together, the two works form a powerful attack on sexual inequality.
