This Czech-language nonfiction book examines the costly injustices that hold Czechia back: poor children have little chance of gaining a quality education, low-income employees are burdened by the tax system, and legislation pushes parents, foreigners and over-indebted people out of the labour market. Public systems do not encourage health prevention or economic initiative, while entire regions and hundreds of thousands of people remain excluded from shared prosperity. Sociologist Daniel Prokop argues that Czechia needs fair growth, involving all its inhabitants in prosperity and overcoming the inertia governing public systems. He presents the depth of the countrys problems and describes data-based reforms to taxation, social security, education, local government and health prevention that could lead to prosperity for all. The book also addresses the wider challenges posed by geopolitics, population ageing and the climate crisis.
