The Secret: (Jack Reacher 28) Child Lee (2024)

In this Jack Reacher thriller, a hospital patient in Chicago in 1992 wakes to find two strangers beside his bed. They show him a list of names and ask an impossible question; minutes later, he falls to his death from a twelfth-floor window. The Secretary of Defense calls for an inter-agency task force, and recently demoted Major Jack Reacher is assigned as the Armys representative. If he succeeds, it is a victory; if not, he is a convenient scapegoat. As Reacher investigates a cold-blooded killer and uncovers a secret reaching back 23 years, he must also navigate the politics of his new partners. Will he bring the perpetrators to justice officially, or in his own way? The English-language novel is the 28th book in the Jack Reacher series, although the books can be read in any order.
