Nvrat do historie – Rozhovory Petra Huska s Jim Hanuem Husk Petr (2025)

How can we understand history, and how do civilizations and world empires disappear? What are the strengths and weaknesses of the nation-state, why can religion, especially Islamic radicalism, be dangerous, and how can the West be characterised and its widespread unpopularity explained? Ji Hanu, professor of general history at the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University, discusses these and similar questions with Petr Husk. Their conversation explores the major political, economic and cultural changes taking place today, as well as how contemporary geopolitical events are changing the understanding of Czech history. To comprehend the present, they argue, we need a new orientation in Czech, Central European and world history.
