Boss of the Underworld Freeman Tor (2025)

This funny, fast-paced graphic novel follows Shirley and her giant cockroach friend, George, on a strange adventure through the Underworld. Will they triumph over scary foes, resist eating delicious things in the forest, navigate the Bog of Intense Emotions, and find their way into the dark sewers to confront the Green Menace? There are many ways into the Underworld, but only one way out. The series is accessible and full of charm and energy. One of the funniest books Ive read this year, maybe this lifetime, and Im not even exaggerating. Its incredible, says Jamie Smart, creator of Bunny vs Monkey. Steven Lenton calls it out of this underworld, while Gary Northfield describes it as a tour de force of silliness.
